Safety First
Once kids turn two and a half years old, they are eligible to attend swimming lessons clyde north on their own without parental supervision. The “Guppy” level for this age group focuses on water safety by teaching students safe habits around water; students learn how to blow bubbles, glide and roll with assistance, float on backs or bellies, jump and crawl safely from edge of pool as they do this work.
Studies demonstrate that children who are water-safe have improved cognitive, language and motor development compared to those who do not swim regularly. Because of this, it’s vital that children begin swimming early to establish a solid foundation that will last throughout their lives. Our aquatic educators will ensure your child has an ideal learning experience so they can become strong, confident swimmers!
Fun & Confidence
At our swim lessons, laughter, smiles and enjoyment are the norm. From Guppies (ages 3-5) through Sea Turtles (ages 6-12), students learn skills that will lay the groundwork for lifelong success in swimming. Star Swim Schools operates for 49 weeks out of the year, providing students with consistent instruction to help them reach their goals in a safe, developmentally appropriate learn-to-swim environment. This ensures they progress faster through levels while learning in an environment which is both fun and educational.
As a result, they will develop endurance and strength at an accelerated rate, while simultaneously adapting their diets towards healthier options which will carry over into adulthood. Establishing these habits early on can ensure your children remain in peak physical condition both for swimming as well as all other life activities.
Lifelong Learning
Swimming lessons provide children with invaluable lifelong skills. Studies show that children who feel comfortable and confident in the water are better prepared for school, more at ease interacting with adults who aren’t their parents and more likely to remain physically active throughout their lives.
Younger students can join our Guppy group, designed for kids between the ages of two and half and five, to develop safe swimming habits. In this level, children learn to blow bubbles, glide and roll with assistance, float on their backs or bellies with assistance, jump and use kickboards to practice flutter kicks.
Once students have successfully passed through our first five levels, they’re ready to test their endurance and speed in our Stroke Development class. Here, they’ll build endurance by swimming more laps as part of races to promote healthy competition; additionally they’ll also learn the butterfly stroke – upon graduating this level, students are eligible to join swim teams!
